Culinary Institute of America VIP Event

Members of the Greater Houston Chapter were invited to The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) VIP reception at Brennan’s of Houston on June 21st. The event included an evening of tastings, cocktails and wines.

Rachel Johnson, Advancement Officer welcomed us. She indicated that the CIA wanted to establish a relationship with the Wine Society of Texas similar those they had with other wine organization in states where they had culinary schools Hype Park, NY, Napa, Ca. She stated the CIA’s newest concentration was in San Antonio adjacent to the Riverwalk. The campus was created to highlight the world class cuisines of Latin America. An invitation was extended to the Wine Society of Texas to tour our facilities.

During the welcome by Dr. Victor Gielisse, Vice President, acknowledged the presence of WST as one of the featured VIP’s and the only wine organization. We were very well represented by chapter members, prospective members and Pam Boring from the Permian Basin chapter. It was a great opportunity to network as well as meet representatives from various restaurants. The event was enjoyed by all. Of course we did have an opportunity to taste.
