We are diversified in our love for wine, starting with Texas, embracing other American wine regions and also appreciating wines from the wine regions of Argentina, Australia, South Africa, and parts in between.

Rediscover Kris Bistro

Group Kris Bistro 2014On Saturday March 29th, our chapter held a Old World/New World food and wine event at Kris Bistro and Wine Lounge. Kris Bistro is part of Culinary Institute LeNotre, which is known all over the world for quality French cuisine and pastry. It is authentic French food prepared by a teaching kitchen of culinary students and instructors.  We had a very good turnout of members, new members and a new prospective member The event was a three course meal with Old world/New World wine pairings preceded by a reception.

Wine Society of Texas State Meeting

Blind tasting TempranilloThe 2013 Wine Society of Texas State meeting was held on October 4 – 5 in Glen Rose, Texas. The theme was Wild West and Wine. The host chapter was Dallas Ft. Worth and it was well attended by members from Permian Basin as well as Greater Houston Chapter.

Wine Tasting at La Fuente Winery

La Fuente1On August 31, The Greater Houston Chapter visited La Fuente Winery, in Houston, Texas.  La Fuente has made their Chilean wines available since 2006.  Their wines include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenere, which has medaled at The Houston Livestock and Rodeo for the last 5 years.
